Meet the Lowell Wellness Staff

Alicia Rozum, MSSA-Wellness Coordinator
Alicia Rozum, MSSA has a diverse experience in a variety of mental health and substance abuse treatment settings including: community centers, intensive outpatient clinics, juvenile detention programs, foster youth programs, and inpatient psychiatric settings.  She earned her BA in Health Sciences from Ohio University and a MS in Social Administration from Case Western University.  For fun, Alicia enjoys training for endurance races in cycling and running.  Alicia is on campus Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Jenessa Bayda, Community Health Outreach Worker (CHOW)

Jenessa is excited to join the Wellness Center and brings with her a great amount of enthusiasm and experience.  She has worked in the Bay Area's non-profit sector for seven years in a variety of roles, including the coordination of educational workshops for children and parents experiencing separation and divorce, rapid HIV test counseling and delivery of other HIV/AIDS related services, and assistance with disability benefits trainings.  Jenessa has also worked in Mexico, offering environmental education to local youth.  She completed her B.A. in Writing/Literature from the University of California, San Diego, where she also played on the women's intercollegiate basketball team.  Jenessa still enjoys basketball and also loves her dog Jackson, the outdoors and much, much more.

Maryann Rainey, R.N., P. N. P., School District Nurse (SDN)
Nurse Rainey earned her B. S. in Nursing at San Francisco State University, and her Masters’ in Science in Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. Nurse Rainey has extensive experience in nursing, taking care of patients at UCSF for ten years, visiting patients in their homes for several years, and managing her own San Mateo County Pediatric Clinic for six years after becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner. For fun and exercise she once rode her bike in the Canadian Rockies for two weeks, riding 550 miles.  She packed all of her gear, camped outside every night and hung her food in the trees at night to keep it from the bears.  It was a fabulous experience!  Now she birdwatches, attending to bird migrations as Hermit Thrushes, Yellow Warblers and Red Breasted Sapsuckers head north or south through her backyard or Golden Gate Park.  She loves birdwatching; becoming ever more aware of nature and the internal tranquility that the discipline engenders.  Nurse Rainey started practicing at Lowell in January of 2001 and is happy to be a part of the Lowell community.
